Border and customs control

Going through the border and customs control

For departures outside the Russian Federation it is mandatory for a passenger to go through the border and customs control, which is carried out by special services in order to prevent illegal crossing of the state border and (or) illegal transportation of valuable items.

Procedures of the border and customs control are carried out at Terminal 2 of Krasnoyarsk International Airport only for international flights.

The entrance of accompanying persons into the customs control zone is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply with this requirement is subject to administrative liability under Article 16.5 of the Code on Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.

Boarding an aircraft

In accordance with the technological scheme for passenger services at Krasnoyarsk International Airport, boarding an aircraft starts no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time and finishes no later than 15 minutes before departure.

Baggage allowance

The rules for free and general amount of baggage allowable for carriage are determined by the airline.

The minimum free baggage allowance established by the Air Code of the Russian Federation is 10 kg. However, more often airlines establish 20 kg as a free amount of baggage or by the number of pieces of baggage. The generally accepted standard of hand baggage (luggage) (things carried on board of the aircraft) is 5 kg.

In addition to the established free baggage allowance without having to pay any extra charges, a passenger has the right to carry the following items if they are with the passenger and are not included in the baggage:

  • a handbag or briefcase
  • a folder for papers
  • an umbrella
  • a cane
  • a bouquet of flowers
  • outerwear
  • printed books, magazines, etc. for reading in flight
  • baby food for the child during the flight
  • a video camera
  • a portable computer
  • a suit in a garment bag
  • baby cradle when transporting a child
  • crutches, stretchers or a wheelchair when transporting a passenger with reduced mobility.

If weight of the baggage exceeds the established norm (exceed 203 cm in the sum of three dimensions) or overweight (one piece of baggage weighs more than 32 kg), then the baggage is subject to payment according to the payment rates established by the airline.

Procedures for flight delay

Flight delay may occur for one of many reasons: bad weather conditions at the airport of departure or landing, aircraft malfunction, a result of a flight schedule failure that occurred the day before, etc.

If the flight delay may affect future personal plans, we recommend contacting the airline representative to find out the estimated time of departure of the flight and, considering this information, make a decision about waiting, returning or reissuing the ticket. In any case, the airline is obliged to take all possible measures in order to transport the passenger to the destination as promptly as possible.

Airline responsibility for flight delay

In accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) "General Rules for the Air Transportation of Passengers, Baggage, and Cargo," which entered into force on the territory of Russia on October 20, 2007, the airline is liable to passengers for flight delays that occurred for any reason. If due to some reason (including weather conditions) the flight is delayed by more than 2 hours, the airline must be provide soft drinks to the passengers, as well as provide an opportunity to make two phone calls or send two messages by e-mail. With delays of more than 4 hours, the airline must provide hot meals to the passengers. If the flight does not depart within 8 hours during the day or 6 hours during the night, the airline must provide a hotel for the passengers.

All the services above must be delivered free of charge to the passengers.
